SCHEDULE CHANGE IMPACTS
Schedule adjustments
Dropping classes or withdrawing, or adding classes may result in a reassessment of your university charges and/or a recalculation of your financial aid for the term. The exact consequences to you depend on a number of factors, including the type and amount of aid you have and the official date on which you drop or add classes.
The overall consequences of dropping and adding courses can include:
- Adjustments to the financial aid you have been awarded, including possible adjustments for future terms, depending on a change in credit hours.
- Late fees, forfeiture fees or a refund depending on the point in the term you drop or add. See registrar.osu.edu for drop/add deadlines and refund/forfeiture schedules.
- Changes to assessed tuition and fees. Keep in mind that depending on when you drop and then add a course may have an impact on your account. Dropping a course may result in a refund being sent to you. If another course is later added, you will then have to pay for that course and any additional fees associated with it.
Check your Student Center at buckeyelink.osu.edu regularly for additional course charges and late fees.
Waitlists
If you attempt to register for a course that does not have any more open seats, you will have the option to be waitlisted. Waitlisted students are automatically enrolled in a course if other enrolled students drop the class through the first week of the term. Once you are moved off the waitlist and enrolled in a course, you will be charges any associated course fees or tuition.
Keep track of any waitlists you are on AND related changes to your Statement of Account through your Student Center at buckeyelink.osu.edu.
