STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE

Am I required to have health insurance?
Health insurance coverage is required as a condition of enrollment at Ohio State for students enrolled at least half time (6 hours undergraduate and 5 hours graduate) in eligible classes.

Important notes:

  • A student's enrollment in the Student Health Insurance Plan is an annual selection and is binding for the entire academic year, including summer if the student remains enrolled in eligible summer term classes.
  • You must waive coverage each year if you have adequate coverage of your own.

For more information, go to shi.osu.edu. New students will find helpful information on the Student Health FAQs for New Students blog.
